First Self-made Sky Lantern 孔明燈

Date: Secondary 2 or 3?
Location: Forgot which field
Event: Sky Lantern Competition organized by Sam Tet School, Ipoh, Malaysia

You need a permit from the government if you want to fly a sky lantern in Malaysia. But thanks to Sam Tet School who did that for all and gave many a chance to fly sky lanterns together. I think the event was really amazing, in a small town like Ipoh.

It's not easy to make a successful sky lantern, measurements must be accurate and balanced for the lantern to rise. Otherwise if it tilts, it burns. We tied a big piece of wax at the bottom to burn and produce hot air. And I wonder where the lanterns actually went after the wax finished burning.

When I look back, I think my lantern design was really bad. I'm sorry my fellow competition partners, Mei Theen and Yeng Yeng. But I hope we had an unforgettable time together. :)
